Faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.                    Hebrews 11:3

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith? And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. Luke 12:28-31

But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. James 2:18

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5 & 6

Heavenly Father – Strengthen me to grow in my complete trust, and faith that You are ever- present in my life, that it may not be said of me: “O you of little faith.” Let me please You in my daily walk of faith, knowing that if You have clothed the grass in the fields, that Your care for me is always there – but that I am to seek You first in all things! Let me show You my faith in my trust, and service to You, as You direct my life. Amen.

To some, the observance of Presidents’ Day in the United States goes very much unnoticed. Local newspapers splash ads of “President’s Day Sales!” and many get the day off from work. But have you ever stopped to think about this important day of recognition?

Whose holiday is the third Monday in February?

According to the federal government, the holiday observed on the third Monday in February is officially Washington’s Birthday. But many Americans believe that this holiday is now called “Presidents’ Day,” in honor of both Presidents Washington and Lincoln, whose birthdays are February 22 and February 12, respectively.

So, in as our nation celebrates President’s Day, we are reminded to give thanks , in remembrance of those who have served our country in the past, and pray for those in leadership today, as we are told in 1 Timothy 2:1 – 3:

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior…

Life’s Journey

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Hebrews 11:8-10

Life is a journey with different levels of maturity, choices, direction, and destinations.

Where are you going? Are you being guided, or are you in control of your own fate? Jesus talking about the rulers of the day, the Pharisees described in Matthew 15:14 as: “…blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” Are you on a clear path?

The journey of life has many obstacles, bumps, turns, ups and downs. Do you know where your going? Proverbs 4:26 tells us to: “Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.” There are a multitude of decisions to be made; are you on the right path? God has promised to show us the way. In Psalm 16:11 we read: “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

God has a wonderful journey in store for you. Seek His way; trust in Him, and He has promised to direct you! “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5 & 6)
