Be still, and know that I am God! Psalm 46:10

In the busyness of our day, how often do we stop; block everything else out; and focus all of our attention on God – our Creator – or Jesus and His provision for us at the cross – and or the Holy Spirit, living in us — our guide?

God has promised to be with us always – during our difficulties:

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me… Psalm 23:4

I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee… Hebrews 13:5

He is with us as we enter into each day as ambassadors and witnesses for Him:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Matthew 28:19 & 20

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8

God the Father; God the Son; God the Holy Spirit is always with us.

Do you stop all that’s going on in your life for times of stillness in your day, to see, hear, meditate – “become still” – to glorify your Lord and Saviour – and “know that He is God?”

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18

Veteran’s Day 2012

On Sunday, November 11, we honor our nation’s veterans who have served in all of America’s wars. November 11 is the day that an armistice was declared between Germany and America and its allies during World War I, the so-called “Great War.” The exact official ending of the war was the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.

The United States Congress in 1926 declared that the anniversary of the armistice be commemorated with prayers and thanksgiving. On July 1, 1954, Congress officially changed the name from Armistice Day to Veterans Day.

We give tribute to our veterans in thanks – and in prayer:

Dear Lord – We honor our veterans, worthy men and women who gave their best when they were called upon to serve and protect their country. We thank You Lord, for Your protection over our nation, as these brave soldiers have served as they’ve been called to do. May we be a nation that always honors and glorifies You! Thank you for Your peace “which surpasses all understanding.” Amen.
