But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

We invite you to join us this week in a daily e-pilgrimage as we walk the steps to the cross of Calvary with our Lord. Following the pattern of the Via Dolorosa, we will travel using Scripture as our guide on Christ’s pathway to the cross, stopping at various significant areas to reflect on, before moving on to the next, and ultimately, culminating with His bodily resurrection. The Via Dolorosa (Latin: “Way of Grief,” “Way of Sorrows,” “Way of Suffering” or simply “Painful Way”) is a street within the Old City of Jerusalem, held to be the path that Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion. The winding route from the Antonia Fortress west to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre – a distance of about 600 metres (2,000 feet) – is a celebrated place of Christian pilgrimage. The current route has been established since the 18th century, replacing various earlier versions, marked by various stations, or stopping points along the path.
